Apple has work to do

Recently, I've really been thinking about my love for the iPad 2, and realized it doesn't exist. I'm not saying that the iPad doesn't exist, I'm saying my love for it isn't there anymore. After using many different Android devices, I realized that the problem is with software updates. Apple simply isn't doing many things new with the iOS 5 for the iPad. I bought the iPad 2 with the expectation that iOS 5 would be a complete OS revamp, but iOS 5 was unveiled and didn't change a whole lot. Yes, I know that iOS 5 comes with notifications, browser updates, and other things, but when I turn on my iPad each morning, I will continue to see the same, dull thing.

Why am I talking about this? Because I'm switching to an Android tablet, specifically the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, and Apple needs to make some changes soon if they want me back when the next iPad is released. They cannot continue to use the same boring home screen design that they've been using since 2007 with the original iPhone. I love the use of widgets on Android, it makes everything a lot less dull. I also really like the live wallpapers, another thing iOS doesn't have. I know that they shouldn't copy Android, but they need to make some big changes soon. What do you think?

Goodbye, physical entertainment.

Recently, I've been talking to my mom about physical books and libraries, both are things that she is used to and loves with a passion. She visits the local library almost everyday to get books and always ends up paying late fees because she forgets to return a book or she hasn't finished it yet. I've repeatedly told her that digital books or "eBooks" will take over, but she is still skeptical. For whatever reason that I still cannot understand, she believes that there will always be demand for physical books. Now, this may be true, but the demand will get smaller and smaller as time goes by.

I've even gone as far as to tell her that libraries will be gone within a decade, which she thinks is unbelievable. Gen Z (Born 1990's through early 2000's) isn't very interested in physical media anymore, and that's going to get worse with incoming generations. Why? We no longer want to wait for anything, we want it immediately, and the internet is filling our desire. Why would you go to the store or library to get a book or movie, when you can download instantly on your Kindle or other device? Whenever I want to watch a movie, I just hop on my Apple TV and watch it instantly, no need to go anywhere or wait for anything. Remember the days when you had to go to Blockbuster for a movie? Now that we have services like Netflix and iTunes, going to a store just to get a movie is horrible.

How much longer will physical entertainment like books and movies be around? Well, I'm not really sure. What I can say is that libraries need to get ready for a rough future.

Why I chose Blogger over the rest.

Blogger has been around for quite a long time, and many would consider it to be a dead blogging platform, but I have to disagree. While the dashboard may look outdated compared to services like Tumblr, Blogger is owned by Google, which means it is SEO optimized for search engines. I know that you shouldn't care about views, but I want to make sure I'm optimized for search engines so people actually see what I'm writing.

Well, why didn't I choose Wordpress? I decided to not go with Wordpress because I've been using it for my different ventures for quite some time now, and I wanted to try something simple for my blogging. I want to use this blog to just write out my thoughts, and Wordpress is very involved and I wouldn't use most of the features it offers. That pretty much sums up why I chose Blogger. Now, what will I be blogging about, you ask? It depends on the day,  it could be about an announcement from Apple, stocks I've invested into, or a new social network that I am starting to use. Interested? Follow the blog to see what I have to say!
